In 2017, photographer Thomas Hoepker was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. A stroke of fate, but one that he is determined to face head on, with a great deal of humor and enthusiasm for his work. His last big dream: a road trip through the USA with his wife Christine. Once again, they want to embark on a great journey together, a new edition of the trip that established his international reputation as a photographer in the early 1960s. He called this road trip through the USA Heartland. Once again, Thomas Hoepker wants to use his camera to explore the heart of the United States, the country that has been his adopted home for over 40 years.
