Rachel Thomson's work is inspired by a fascination with mimesis and affected by a concern for loss of biodiversity and climate change.
 
In this ongoing series of Medusae she uses found plastic as subject matter and the earliest form of cameraless photography: the cynanotype photogram, as medium. Working directly with waste materials and with a low environmental impact her art expolres the challenge that humans pose to the worls and to each other.
