UNSEEN SIGHTS - DOUGLAS MANDRY: ZURICH
Past exhibition
6 October - 12 November 2016
UNSEEN SIGHTS ist the first solo exhibition of the emerging young talent Douglas Mandry and assembles works related to the act of traveling in a modern era. Misappropriation of the term "sightseeing", «Unseen Sights» is instead the visit of a surrealistic territory.
Douglas Mandry uses analog processes of image manipulation in order to question our relationship to images. At times obvious or subtle, his interventions playfully trans gure famous touristic places, raising questions about the status of photography in a digital society.
Douglas Mandry was born in Geneva in 1989 ans lives and works in Zurich. He has a bachelor in visual communication and photography from the University Of Art And Design ECAL in Lausanne. His work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions and at international fairs and is represented in several collections.
